Role: To provide assistance to the Library to ensure that students andstaff know how to find, assess, interpret, and synthesize information.Job Description1. Assist the HeadLibrarian in the administration and oversight of all Library roles andresponsibilities2. Establish and maintain awelcoming and well-used space that supports the Moreau Catholic learningcommunity3. Collaborate withteachers to support the effective integration of information and communicationskills and technologies to enhance student learning4. Contribute to thedevelopment of a 9-12 scope and sequence in media literacy and informationtechnology5. Teach students, faculty,staff, administration, and community how to access, evaluate, use, share, andcreate information from a variety of sources6. Model and promoteliteracy and the enjoyment of reading in all media formats7. Develop the collectionof print and electronic materials to support reading for pleasure as well asthe school’s educational curriculum8. Select and deliver newmedia in support of purposeful technology usage in teaching and learning9. Understand copyright,fair use, and licensing of intellectual property, and assist users with theirunderstanding and observance of the same10. Institute libraryprograms that enhance and grow Moreau Catholic’s learning community11. Encourage the use ofinstructional technology to engage students and to improve learning, provide24/7 access to digital information resources for the entire learning community12. Provide and planprofessional development opportunities within the school13. Use evidence ofpractice, particularly in terms of learning outcomes, to support program goalsand planning14. Maintain active presencein professional learning communities and serve as a resource to academiccouncil, the professional development committee and the assistant principal ofinstruction as needed15.
